Intrinsic Faith or Greedy Materialism? Correlates of Prosperity Gospel Beliefs

We explored the relationships of the Prosperity Gospel Beliefs Scale (PGBS) with religiosity and traits associated with criticisms of the movement. PGBS scores were related to a personal security orientation toward religion, rather than intrinsic/searching orientations. PGBS scores were also related to several “negative” traits including greed, entitlement, and materialism.
