Soldier Perceptions of Effective U.S. Army Squad Leaders

U.S. Army squad leaders are critical to the successful functioning of the Soldiers they lead, yet there is still much to understand about characteristics that make them effective, especially at lower levels. Through focus groups with Soldiers we collected perceptions regarding the characteristics of both effective and ineffective squad leaders.
