To be or Not to be the Perfect Parent? the Relationship between Personal Perfectionism, Parenting Perfectionism, and Personality

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore associations between personal perfectionism, parenting perfectionism, and several other personality traits. Results revealed that personal perfectionism was strongly positively correlated with parenting perfectionism, and both personal perfectionism and parenting perfectionism were positively correlated with personality traits such as competitiveness and mastery motivation.
