Abstract

The conflict monitoring hypothesis proposes that cognitive control causes slowing after errors during decision-making tasks. The diffusion model allows this mechanism to be directly tested. On a set-shifting task, children with and without ADHD showed significantly wider boundary separation and slower drift rate after errors, supporting the hypothesis in children.
