Abstract
Rumination and negative reinforcement drinking were examined as mechanisms by which deficits in self-concept clarity (SCC) are related to increased alcohol-related problems in college students. Results suggest that rumination partially explains the association between low SCC and maladaptive coping, which is in turn associated with alcohol-related problems.
