Abstract
Health literacy, the capacity to understand health information, was modeled in a pathway analysis to clarify its relationship with oral health behavioral adherence; it indirectly affected behavioral adherence through knowledge and self-efficacy. This result suggests that interventions for improving oral health should target knowledge and self-efficacy to improve behavioral adherence.
