When Existential Comfort Matters: Religious Defensiveness Differs By Religious Threat

Participants presented with religious threat conditions completed measures of defensive theology and religious beliefs. Preliminary results indicate that defensive theology is highest for participants exposed to the scriptural Christianity threat, especially for participants with conservative theological beliefs, participants with high monthly attendance, and participants identifying as Baptist.
