Abstract
Parent and teacher-rated externalizing behaviors are associated with negative performance in reading and math for girls only, whereas teacher-rated internalizing behaviors impact boys more negatively. Overall, being a girl and having higher teacher-rated giftedness predict math and reading success, although teacher-rated externalizing behaviors predict poorer performance in reading.
