What’s so Funny? Humor and Anxiety’s Effects on Math Performance

Abstract
This study sought to understand humor and math anxiety in math performance. Results show that students' humor ratings of prompts explained 7% variance in math performance; cluster analyses found the highest humor ratings had the highest math performance. This suggests adding humor to instruction will not necessarily increase performance.
