Challenge As Metaphor: Guided Climbing Activity Increases Academic Performance and Psychological Processing

Abstract
To support anxious students, many colleges and universities are promoting stress-reduction interventions. But is this the best approach? In this investigation, students were guided though a challenging physical activity that was used as a metaphor for college. Participants demonstrated increased academic performance and language indicative of positive psychological processing.
