Abstract

The tripartite model of anxiety and depression was used as a framework for elucidating late-life anxiety and the relationship between cognitive aging (i.e., processing speed) and anxiety symptom development. Findings indicated that tripartite components, trait anxiety, and processing speed were uniquely related in older adults compared to younger adults.
