Abstract
Family sociodemographic risk undermines children’s development, but specific mechanisms continue to be studied. In 102 families, we supported indirect effects of risk on children’s behavior problems at 5.5 years, mediated sequentially first, by parental responsiveness at 7-15 months, and second, by child security with the given parent at 2 years.
