Stressful Life Events and Problematic Internet Use in Adolescents: The Mediating Role of Psychological Capital

Abstract

The study tested a conceptual model using longitudinal design in which stressful life events reduce psychological capital which, in turn, increases problematic Internet use (PIU). 1365 adolescents participated over three years. Psychological capital was found to partially mediate the contribution of stressful life events to PIU.
