Abstract

This study examined whether parental psychological control would affect emerging adults' social anxiety via their differentiation of self. Participants were 955 emerging adults recruited from social media. The results demonstrated that differentiation of self significantly mediated the relationship between emerging adults' perceived parental psychological control and social anxiety.
