Abstract

As part of the multi-stage development of a prosocial-antisocial tease comprehension measure, we investigated adults’ interpretations of prosocial, antisocial, and ambiguous teases. Results support the use of a cue-based strategy for tease comprehension. The impact of cues on accuracy differed by number of cues, cue category, and tease type.
