Abstract
Parental distress has been shown to negatively impact parent-child interactions, with such parents being less engaged with and involved in children’s educational endeavors. In the current study, we conducted a mediation analysis to determine the relationship between parental distress and fifth grade reading achievement scores as mediated by parental engagement.
