Abstract

Based on two pre-registered studies, we propose a new measure of prosocial disposition. Participants are shown photos of smiling faces and asked to indicate how much they like the person. Higher overall liking is robustly associated with various prosocial qualities (e.g., general trust, empathy) and markers of positive social relationships.
