Abstract
In Mexican-origin adolescents, endorsement of traditional cultural values (i.e., familismo, respeto) moderated the extent to which expectations of ethnic discrimination predicted parasympathetic and sympathetic reactivity to a social exclusion stressor task. Familismo buffered against greater parasympathetic reactivity, whereas respeto magnified the link between discrimination and sympathetic reactivity.
