Abstract
The current study was designed to investigate the influence of vertical and horizontal cultural characteristics on coping preferences. Results indicated individuals high in horizontal individualism demonstrated a preference for adaptive coping strategies while individuals high in vertical individualism demonstrated a preference for maladaptive coping strategies.
