Abstract

Utilizing 322 sixth grade students, this longitudinal study explores associations among school tracking, reflected classroom appraisals, and academic self-concept. Findings indicate that students’ reflected classroom appraisals significantly predicted changes in academic self-concept. Additionally, honors placement predicted increases in academic self-concept.
