Abstract
Results showed learned helplessness reflects more motivational than affective content (N = 317), based on confirmatory factor analyses and structural equation models. Issues related to disentangling different components of multi-faceted variables, loading subjective and objective criteria onto a shared factor, and the importance of considering the nature of one’s criteria.
