Students’ Self-Regulated Learning Supports STEM Academic Performance

Abstract
To understand why students may exit the STEM pipeline, we examined the role of self-regulated learning (SRL) in academic achievement. We tested and found evidence for the theoretical relationships among Zimmerman’s three-phase SRL model. Further, SRL phases predicted achievement. Students’ ability to accurately predict their grade was most important.
