Double Standards in Perceived Traits of Women Labeled Victims Vs. Survivor

The present study investigated the prevalence of double standard in the character traits associated with these labels (victim vs, survivor) using explicit and implicit measures. Our findings suggest that the traits associated with the label “survivor” were deemed desirable for men, but undesirable for women, highlighting the double standard effect.
