Abstract
Incorporating a more inclusive and culturally responsive environment in pre-college programs by means of a cultural wealth perspective can increase sense of belonging and connectedness in diverse student populations, an important facet to student retention and persistence. This may help abate the student achievement gap seen in the United States.
