When, Why, and How the Mind Wanders
When, why, and how does the mind wander? In this symposium, we discuss how external (Faber) and internal (Baumeister) conditions give rise to and modulate the content of mind wandering, and how its occurrence is driven and supported by cognitive (Schooler) and neural (Christoff) mechanisms involved in memory and attention.
