Using longitudinal, Experimental, and Neuroimaging Methods to Investigate Mindfulness and Self-Compassion
Increasing research demonstrates salutary effects of mindfulness and self-compassion interventions on mental and physical health. We present longitudinal data on protective functions of mindfulness and review evidence from experimental studies incorporating neuroimaging to examine emotion regulatory mechanisms and neural correlates of mindfulness and compassion practice in clinical and non-clinical populations.
