Normative Beliefs and Tobacco, Alcohol, and Marijuana Use
This symposium presents four studies examining norms in a substance use (tobacco, marijuana, and alcohol) prevention context. Papers discuss the role of norms using cross-sectional, longitudinal, and experimental data across three different demographic groups. Findings are discussed in terms of theoretical advancement and the benefits of tailoring to perceived norms.
