The Psychology of Collective Action: Understanding the Process of Radicalization and Deradicalization
This symposium presents research on individual and group-level factors that spur people to 1) identify with social movements and 2) engage in peaceful vs. violent collective actions. The symposium will also discuss 3) psychological interventions geared toward preventing violent extremism and 4) promoting rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
