Abstract

53 males violent offenders were assessed in prison on Violent-Risk-Appraisal-Guide (VRAG), Psychopathy-Checklist–Revised (PCL-R), Historical-Clinical-Risk-Management-20 (HCR-20) and Structured-Assessment-of-Protective-Factors-for-violence-risk (SAPROF) in order to determine tools’ respective accuracy on institutional violence. PCL-R and SAPROF showed more accurate prediction. Intervention focusing on protective factors could improve institutional violence risk management and prevention.
