Abstract

The current study examined the relationship between mindset, self-efficacy, self-compassion, and optimism. In a survey of 162 participants, self-efficacy and self-compassion significantly mediated the relationship between mindset and optimism. A growth mindset is associated with an optimistic view of the future, through increased self-efficacy and self-compassion.
