Abstract

Rape myths are prejudicial beliefs that justify and condone sexual violence. Although juries are given information to help interpret sexual assault laws, jurors are not immune to the influence of rape myths on decision-making. Researchers found that higher rape myth acceptance resulted in more victim blame and less guilty verdicts.
