Health and Safety Protocols
The Washington Hilton follows all local guidelines and laws with respect to wearing masks in public.
Prior to your stay, the Hilton cleans all guest rooms and high-touch surfaces like elevators and restrooms with commercial-grade products. Disinfectant stations are located throughout the hotel. Daily housekeeping services are available upon request.

The health and safety of convention attendees is our top priority. At this time, APS is not planning to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination from attendees at the 2023 Annual Convention. We will continue to monitor and adjust our plans and attendee requirements according to recommendations by experts at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, and local health officials, including vaccine requirements, mask mandates, and social distancing. We will update the website with additional information on COVID-19 safety recommendations as we draw closer to the Convention.
APS reserves the right to make any changes to the health and safety policies at our Conventions. All registered attendees will be informed of any changes to these policies.

The Call for Submissions is APS’s on-line portal for submitting research to be presented at the APS Annual Convention. Submission types include posters, flash talks and symposia. All submissions will be presented in-person.

Anyone can submit a proposal for consideration; if accepted, the first author, whether or not they are attending the Convention, must be an APS Member or Student Affiliate in good standing at the time of the Convention. All participants at the APS Annual Convention must pay the registration fee to present or attend the Convention. Being a member of APS directly benefits you and your career and offers you a significant discount on convention registration. To become a member and take advantage of membership benefits please visit our Membership page.

Family Care Assistance – The Family Care Assistance Program defrays family care costs for APS Members and Student Affiliates who are presenting their research at the 2023 APS Annual Convention. These costs can include childcare, elder care, etc. Learn more and apply.
