Using the APS Virtual Poster Showcase FAQs

How do I login to the Virtual Poster Showcase?

If you’ve already pre-registered for this virtual event, logging in is easy! First, access the Virtual Poster Showcase Sign-In page. Once there, please enter your Registration Confirmation Number and Last Name in the required fields — then sign in! That’s all you need to do!

As a reminder, your Registration Confirmation Number can be found in your registration confirmation email, which was sent from the APS Meetings Department automatically when your registration was completed (note: the confirmation number is a code containing both letters and numbers). If you need your confirmation number re-sent, please use the “Already Registered?” option in the APS Virtual Poster Showcase Registration Platform.

If you have not yet registered, please do so here: APS Virtual Poster Showcase Registration. Once you register please allow about 15 minutes for your registration to process before you log in.

Is there a recommended web browser for accessing the APS Virtual Poster Showcase?

We recommend that you use Google Chrome to optimally access the Virtual Poster Showcase.

How do I browse posters?

You can browse posters in two different ways:

1. By using the “Virtual Posters” function, you can browse through posters by subject area sessions (for example, “Cognitive” or “Clinical Science”).

2. By using the “Posters by Keyword” function, you can browse through posters by topical keyword (for example “Addiction” or “Education”).

How do I find a specific poster?

You can search for a poster by title, presenter name or other information relating to the topic of the poster. To do so, you can search for specific posters of interest using the search tab or the magnifying glass icon labeled ‘Search’ on the Virtual Poster Showcase home landing page.

How do I see a virtual poster for a listing that I find interesting?

You have the option to either view the virtual poster PDFs online or you can download posters and save them to your computer. You’ll see the options “View” and “Download” below the title, abstract, and author listing for each poster. You should not encounter any trouble viewing posters, but if you do, a quick “refresh” of the page should do the trick.

How do I save a poster for future viewing?

You have the ability to add any poster to your list of favorites by clicking the star icon next to the poster’s title. Feel free to use this function as you are browsing as a way to return to interesting posters later at your convenience.

To access your list of favorites, click on the star icon in the top right of your screen. You’ll see the list of posters under the “Posters” tab. Additionally, there is a “Restore” tab. In case you accidentally remove a poster from your favorites, the poster will temporarily be available in the “Restore” section.

How do I interact with others within the APS Virtual Poster Showcase?

You have two ways to interact with attendees and presenters in the Virtual Poster Showcase:

First, if you have a specific comment or question for the authors of a poster, you can post a comment or question on the poster’s listing – you’ll see this option right below the ‘View Virtual Poster’ option. The authors of the poster will receive a notification that a comment has been added, giving them the opportunity to respond. You’ll be notified via email as soon as there is a response to your comment. We encourage you to post questions and comments to initiate and invite discussion for the sharing of psychological science.  Please note your contact information will not be shared in doing so.

Second, you have the opportunity to connect with other Virtual Poster Showcase attendees. You can do this by utilizing the “Attendee List” function, wherein you can find the attendee you’d like to connect with, then select “Connect”. Upon doing so, you can write a note, which will be emailed to the attendee (along with your full name and email address), that will give them the chance to respond via email. Your contact information will not be shared with any presenters or attendees unless you choose to connect, nor will it be available anywhere else in the Virtual Poster Showcase.

Please keep in mind the APS Code of Conduct when interacting with presenters and attendees.

Can I access the APS Virtual Poster Showcase on my phone or tablet?

Yes, you can access the Virtual Poster Showcase on your phone or tablet- we recommend that you use the Google Chrome application to do so.

Registered attendees will be able to ask questions about your poster through a chat feature in the platform. You will be notified when you receive a question, and can respond at your convenience. To be able to respond, please register using the same email address that you used on your submission.

Since the posters will be uploaded as PDFs and displayed virtually, there are no requirements about the size of your poster. APS recommends a horizontal aspect ratio, which will be easily viewed on most screens.
