A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the neural basis of learning and perception in songbirds. Using electrophysiological, behavioral, computational and molecular approaches, my lab investigates how the brain processes and perceives social signals, and how both perception and the underlying neural mechanisms are shaped by experience as well as evolution. The work will be done in the Department of Biology at McGill University. Located in downtown Montreal, McGill offers a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative training environment in the center of a unique, safe and international city.

Required qualifications: The ideal candidate should have experience in neurophysiology and animal behavior as well as excellent experimental design, analytical, and communication skills and experience using standard programming and statistical software (e.g. Matlab, R). A PhD in neuroscience or a related discipline is required prior to the appointment.
