A one to two-year post-doctoral fellowship position is available in the Dept of Psychology at the University of Houston. The fellow will help coordinate a large, multi-site study funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) examining the effects of parental military deployment on family members. Clinical interviews, questionnaires, and biological measures (e.g., sleep, cortisol) are being collected as indicators of stress. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) data collection and management, recruitment, conducting clinical assessments (sometimes involving travel within the state of Texas), supervising study staff, and interacting with military personnel. The position offers multiple clinical and research opportunities including working with individuals/families in need of services, paper authorship, grant writing, and professional presentations. Direct supervision from a licensed clinical psychologist will be provided. Fellows are also encouraged to initiate and carry out relevant research projects of their own.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in psychology or related discipline, be highly motivated, and have strong oral and written English communication skills. The successful candidate will ideally, but not necessarily have experience working with the military community.
