Logue Joins NYIT as APS Fellow Alexandra W. Logue was named vice president for Academic Affairs at New York Institute of Technology. As NYIT's chief academic officer, Logue will direct the college's academic programs in teaching, research and service, overseeing the libraries, academic computing, research centers, initiatives in teaching and learning with technology, and academic planning. She will also be the chief liaison and facilitator to the Academic Senate and with the faculty and their labor representatives. After receiving her A.B. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University, Logue joined the faculty of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. In 1995, she began her six-year tenure at Baruch College, where she oversaw the receipt of several landmark gifts, significantly increased external funding for faculty research and developed an annual conference on teaching and technology that has grown to serve the entire CUNY system. She has also published more than 100 articles and chapters, In addition, she has served on the editorial boards of many prestigious journals and has received research support from the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Mental Health.
