| DENISON UNIVERSITY. The Department of Psychology at Denison University invites applications for a two year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin in the Fall semester of 2014. The position is full-time, with a teaching load of three courses per semester.
We seek candidates with teaching and research interests in Developmental Psychology, especially middle childhood and adolescence, although other Developmental areas will be considered. Candidates will also be expected to teach in a second area of interest, such as, but not limited to, perception, motivation, or neuroscience. Teaching responsibilities also include Introductory Psychology, with a weekly laboratory component. Other possible courses include a junior-senior seminar in the candidate’s area of expertise.
All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or related disciplinary/ interdisciplinary programs, with the dissertation completed by the time of appointment. Candidates should have prior experience teaching at the undergraduate level, demonstrate strong teaching skills, and have a clear motivation to teach undergraduates in a liberal arts environment. The department’s research and computing facilities could potentially support the candidate’s scholarship, and supervision of student research is possible.
Denison University is a selective liberal arts college located in scenic Granville, Ohio (www.Denison.edu), located 30 miles east of Columbus. Our Department consists of 13 full time faculty who represent a wide range of specialty areas within Psychology. The Department has excellent support for teaching and research.
