VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is seeking an academically-oriented clinical or counseling psychologist to serve as the Assistant Chief of Psychology for Internship Training and Faculty Development. The psychologist will serve as the Director of the Boston Consortium Psychology Internship Program, which currently includes 20 pre-doctoral interns who are recruited nationally from top graduate training programs and assigned to training sites at 3 major VABHS campuses and 2 Boston University sites. The incumbent will also actively collaborate with the Chief of Psychology in faculty development activities and continuing education for the 120+ faculty level psychologists in the VABHS system, have opportunity to represent Psychology on relevant interdisciplinary Medical Center leadership committees, act as the Chief of Psychology during the Chief’s absence, and have considerable autonomy and flexibility in managing the responsibilities associated with the position. The successful candidate will have current or prior active involvement in the leadership or management of a Psychology training program and come from a clinician-scientist background. Experience in VA or Department of Defense clinical settings, national visibility in the field of psychology education and/or an active research portfolio, and experience with faculty development or mentoring are preferred. The incumbent must be eligible for academic appointment, with a target rank of Associate or Full Professor at Boston University School of Medicine or Harvard Medical School. The psychologist will be joining a vibrant psychology community within an academic healthcare system dedicated to the scientist practitioner model. Salary and benefits are competitive, with a salary range of $105,702-$137,410, depending on experience. A recruitment/retention incentive may be authorized for highly qualified candidates.
