| ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY, OAKLAND UNIVERSITY (SOCIAL/PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY)
The Department of Psychology at Oakland University (www.oakland.edu/psychology) invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in SOCIAL/PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall, 2014 from candidates whose primary research interests are focused on issues within social/personality psychology (broadly defined) and complement those of existing faculty. A market competitive salary plus excellent fringe benefits are provided.
Qualified applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in psychology (ABD applicants may apply but must have a Ph.D. in psychology at the time of appointment). Qualified applicants will have an interest in teaching courses in social/personality psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Qualified applicants must show potential that leads to developing a productive research program as evidenced through publications in academic journals, presentations at meetings of professional societies, and statements from research supervisors. Qualified applicants are also expected to demonstrate potential for becoming involved in university and professional activities. The Department of Psychology has rapidly expanding M.S. and Ph.D. programs (see www.oakland.edu/psychology/grad/). Preference will be given to candidates who are prepared to mentor graduate students at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels. In addition to collaborative opportunities with the faculty of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, well-developed mechanisms are in place for establishing and funding multidisciplinary research across Oakland University faculty and the William Beaumont Health System.
