McLean Hospital, the Center for Depression, Anxiety and Stress Research (CDASR), and the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School invite applications for faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level from qualified individuals with clinical/translational research interests relevant to depression, anxiety, or stress. The CDASR embraces a multi-disciplinary approach to improve our understanding of the psychological, environmental, and neurobiological factors associated with depression, anxiety and related disorders across multiple levels of analyses (e.g., gene, brain, behavior) and across the lifespan (http://cdasr.mclean.harvard.edu/). We seek investigators to extend or complement our existing research programs. Priority areas include, but are not limited to: anxiety disorders, basic human stress research, psychiatric genetics of depression and anxiety disorders. Investigators engaged exclusively in animal models of psychiatric disorders will not be considered.

Opportunities exist for developing strong collaborations within McLean Hospital and across Harvard Medical School. Depending on research focus, candidates will have access to research-dedicated human (3 T, 4 T) and animal (9.4 T) MRI scanners within the McLean Imaging Center, as well as 128-channel EEG systems within CDASR.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. or professional doctorate, appropriate postdoctoral experience, and a record of extramural funding and publications indicative of demonstrated expertise. Depending upon qualifications, applicants must either meet the academic criteria for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. The positions offer human laboratory space, affiliation with a large clinical and basic neuroscience research program and research infrastructure support. Successful candidates will be expected to develop competitive, independent, and largely externally funded research programs. Salary and recruitment packages will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualified women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
