The Department of Psychology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney invites applicants for a tenure-track, assistant professor position to teach physiological psychology and advanced and introductory undergraduate courses including statistics and/or experimental psychology; and serve as coordinator of the psychobiology program starting August, 2014. The successful candidate must pursue scholarly projects that are relevant to the mission of the department including the development of an active undergraduate research program and a relationship with the allied health sciences; service on department committees and caretaker of the animal colony as needed. Normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester; research active faculty normally receive a 3 hour per semester reduction in teaching. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Psychology at the time of appointment; provide evidence of ability to teach effectively, establish a quality undergraduate research program in psychology, and to seek external funding. Preference will be given to applicants who have college/university teaching experience; evidence of ability to direct a psychobiology program and to work closely with allied health science programs and evidence of ability to contribute to department service.
