The Psychology Department at Albright College is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment starting fall 2014 to foster the development of undergraduate thinking and scholarship. The preferred area of specialization for the candidate is in behavioral neuroscience/psychobiology. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach Biological Basis of Behavior, the fundamentals of research design and analysis in a two-semester sequence course, introduction to Psychology, and advanced courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. This position comes with the expectation of providing leadership and direction for our Psychobiology program, as well as the opportunity to create new courses to strengthen our curriculum with the collaboration and cooperation of both the psychology and biology departments. Teaching experience and an active research program that can engage undergraduate students through collaborative and independent research are required. We also expect familiarity with classroom and laboratory technology. Research support and professional development opportunities are available.

Albright College is a liberal arts institution that emphasizes interdisciplinary studies and teaching excellence, and faculty have a three-three teaching load. Albright’s enrollment is approximately 1700 students and is located within an hour of Philadelphia, and three hours from New York, Baltimore and Washington DC.

An earned doctorate in Psychology or Neuroscience held by August 2014 is required. Review of applications will begin December 1 and continue until the position is filled.
