| DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY is inviting applications for one full-time, Assistant Professor, tenure track position in Psychology beginning August, 2014. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in and dedication to scholarly activity, and to interact well with colleagues and students. They must also demonstrate the capacity to maintain a high quality research program leading to scholarly productivity in the form of professional publications, presentations, and grantsmanship. Competitive salary and start-up funds are available.
Candidates will be expected to serve as a research mentor for doctoral students, to supervise undergraduate research, and to provide quality classroom instruction for both graduate and undergraduate courses. Typical teaching load is two courses per semester. We are seeking candidates with a strong background and expertise in quantitative methods. The position does not require a degree in quantitative psychology but at minimum candidates should be capable of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and contribute quantitative expertise to the department. Area of specialization in experimental psychology is open but strong preference will be given to candidates who can make contributions to our track in Social/Personality Psychology.
The Department has 21 full-time faculty and offers Ph.D.s in Lifespan Developmental Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Currently the Lifespan Developmental program is in the process of changing their program name to Experimental Psychology. The Department offers training to a diverse graduate and undergraduate student body (30% minority enrollment) of approximately 50 doctoral students and 600 undergraduate majors. OSU is located in Stillwater, OK, an environmentally clean, safe, pleasant city of 47,000 located in north central Oklahoma, approximately 70 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Stillwater public schools were recently selected as one of the “100 Best Public School Systems in America,” and the city has excellent affordable housing.
