| The Psychology Department at Stony Brook University seeks to hire at least one, and possibly two, tenure-track Assistant Professors for Fall, 2014. Successful candidates will be strong researchers who can contribute to a translational neuroscience perspective in the Integrative Neuroscience program and bridge to one or more of our other graduate training programs (Cognitive Science, Social & Health, and Clinical) and teach core graduate and undergraduate integrative neuroscience courses. We are particularly interested in applicants who use animal models of stress and stress-related disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression, addiction, and health disorders such as diabetes, obesity, and immune dysfunction) and/or approaches that cross the animal-human divide. We encourage candidates with relevant training in neuroscience disciplines such as behavioral neuroscience, computational neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, biological psychology, and social, affective and cognitive neuroscience to apply, but we are open to other subspecialties.
The Psychology Department at Stony Brook University has excellent and rapidly expanding neuroimaging facilities, access to exceptional facilities for the development of innovative research equipment for animal and human studies, and a strong track record for placing graduates into faculty positions. Stony Brook University is a member of the AAU, with a medical school and hospital complex just a short walk from the Psychology department, and we are located 60 miles from New York City.
