Assistant Professor, Developmental Psychology

The Department of Psychology at SUNY Geneseo invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in developmental psychology beginning Fall 2014.

Required qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology or Human Development by August 2014, superior teaching skills, and ability to involve undergraduates in research. Preference will be given to candidates with exceptional statistical/methodological expertise. Applicants must be prepared to teach child development, adolescent development, and/or adulthood and aging, as well as statistics and research methods. Opportunities exist to develop and teach specialized upper-division classes. Area within developmental psychology is open, with preference for candidates whose research interests complement our current strengths. Multicultural research interests and/or the ability to supervise community internships are a plus.

Geneseo is advertising statistics-related tenure track positions in the psychology, sociology, and mathematics departments. Faculty hired in these positions will be primarily responsible to their individual departments, but possibilities for interdisciplinary research and teaching collaborations are anticipated.

SUNY Geneseo is a highly selective public liberal arts college, consistently ranked among the best public undergraduate institutions in the country. The campus is located in the historic village of Geneseo in the Finger Lakes region of Western New York, conveniently close to Rochester. The Psychology Department has 16 faculty, 600 majors, and a strong culture of student-faculty collaborative research.
