The Department of Psychology seeks applicants for a nine month probationary tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Human Neuroscience. This individual will be part of the Cognitive & Behavioral Sciences sequence faculty, which includes cognitive, learning, and neuroscience research areas. This individual will also hold a joint appointment in the School of Biological Sciences. The Department has over 500 undergraduate majors, 170 graduate students, and 35 full-time faculty members. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise theses in their area of specialization, for both Psychology and Biology students. He or she will also teach courses in both departments: a graduate course per year for Biology, and both graduate and undergraduate courses for Psychology, which may include introductory psychology, methods and statistics, physiological psychology, and courses in the individual’s area of specialization. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. (or ABD with Ph.D. imminent) in Psychology or related discipline with an emphasis on human neuroscience, openness to teaching at all levels based on department needs, and a record indicating the promise of a strong program of research. The position begins August 16, 2014. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
