COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY - ASSISTANT PROFESSOR. The Department of Psychology at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, invites applications for a Cognitive Psychology faculty position at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) rank. We are seeking a candidate whose research and training incorporates advanced quantitative methods. This can include mathematical modeling (including neural network models), and/or use of advanced statistical techniques (including mixed effects linear modeling, multilevel modeling, and Bayesian statistics). Area of research is open. We are particularly interested in candidate’s whose research would make logical connections with our existing strengths, including perception, language, meta-cognition, comparative cognition, categorization, learning, and music cognition. Applicants are expected to have an active, visible research program, to publish theoretical and empirical research in top-tier journals, to have a strong potential for extramural research funding, and to contribute to teaching and supervision of both graduate and undergraduate students. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology. Initial review of applications will begin on October 15, 2013, and will continue until the position has been filled.
