| The CARTHAGE COLLEGE Department of Psychological Science invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY to begin August 2014. We seek a colleague with broad interests in psychology and enthusiasm for both teaching (including labs) and research. The successful candidate is expected to have an active research program that would involve undergraduates as co-investigators. Lab space is available, as well as funding to purchase basic research equipment and employ student research assistants.
Applicants should expect to teach three undergraduate courses per semester, as well as one course in January Term (two out of every three years). The successful candidate will teach Social Psychology, Introductory Psychology, and an advanced course that could include Personality, Social Cognition, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology, depending on the candidate’s interests. Aside from teaching in the psychology major, the successful candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to Carthage’s intellectual and teaching mission, be expected to teach general education courses, and have opportunities to teach the core Heritage Seminars.
