| Murine Behavior Research Specialist St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Job Number 30535 Memphis, TN St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a premier center for research and treatment of potentially fatal childhood diseases. The hospital's mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. This position assists principal investigators with experimental design and collection/analysis of data for behavioral research projects. Manages all aspects of the Developmental Neurobiology Behavioral Core Lab and trains/oversees laboratory work of personnel. Performs experiments with minimum supervision and develops new procedures. Participates in design/interpretation of experiments as well as presentation/publication of research. Assists in budget development and constantly assesses the Core's infrastructure and capabilities to ensure its state-of-the-art support for murine behavior research. Performs other duties as assigned. Research interests in the department of Developmental Neurobiology include investigations of models of neurodevelopmental defects, neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, schizophrenia, hearing loss, learning and memory, as well as neural phenotyping in the context of genetically modified models and preclinical therapeutic trials for disorders of the nervous system. Requirements: Master's degree in related field (e.g. neuroscience, experimental psychology) and 4 yrs. exp. in murine or related behavior analysis is required. MD or PhD in related field preferred. 2 yrs. exp. in murine or related behavior analysis is required with a PhD.
