Convention Video Blog: How Can Wii Help?

The cameras are rolling at the APS 24th Annual Convention in Chicago, Illinois.  Jessica A. Stansbury of Towson University presented her research “How Can Wii Help? Video Gaming Increases Course Knowledge and Engagement” at the Teaching Institute Poster Session Thursday, May 24.

The effectiveness of video gaming to supplement instruction of descriptive statistics and factorial designs in a research methods course was evaluated. Students designed studies involving their scores from two Wii video games. Students’ actual knowledge increased significantly, and they reported high levels of engagement with the material.
